Role: Maintenance Technician - Food Manufacturing
Pay Rate: $28-$33/hour
Shift: 3rd Shift/ Night (9pm – 7am)
Schedule: 10/hr. Shift (4-3) Weekends included.

$500 sign on bonus
The sign on bonus is paid after you’ve been with Ditsch USA for 91 days.
All compensation is subject to normal required and voluntary tax.

Job Summary:
As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining the excellence of our SQF-certified food manufacturing facility. The Maintenance Technician will perform highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment while acting as a technical support resource and providing a multi-skilled service for our production team. The Maintenance Technician will be tasked to support their own projects/improvements to be completed in support of a facility that operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. This role will report directly to the Maintenance Shift Supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install, maintain, and repair all necessary equipment, verifying and testing all repairs to ensure they are completed with quality and accuracy.
- Adequately utilize electronic equipment and software. (i.e. PC, phone, email, CMMS, etc…)
- Maintain facility and equipment throughout the plant; consisting of, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, etc.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities for improvement and utilize the CMMS system to document the issues. i.e. write a Work Order (WO).
- Comply with work, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update records accurately and timely; including but not limited to, WO’s, PM’s, Call Log’s, Shift Reports, adding parts, labor, notes, pics, status changes, etc....
- Self-motivated to stay consistently busy throughout shift helping to impact change and improvement, while potentially working independently in a mature and professional manner.
- Maintain positive working relationship with all departments and sustain constant communication within the shift and department.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) while working indoors and/or outdoors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED; or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (food processing equipment experience desirable).
- Ability to use logic and reasoning skills to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Strong pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills; experience with PLC's and VFD's.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to attendance.
- Ability to perform duties independently or with minimal supervision while maintaining a high degree of integrity.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent changes on the production line.
Physical Requirements:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Able to work in a warehouse with temperatures that can range from -10F to above-normal heat conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally above shoulder height.
- Ability to work in an environment with flashing lights, horns, and powered moving equipment operating in proximity.
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, and walking.
- Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into awkward spaces.
- Must be able to visually inspect machines.
- Welding skills (MIG - Steel, TIG – Steel/Aluminum) are preferred.
- Must be able to safely maintain x-ray and metal detection equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and proper handling procedures.
- Ability to work in high voltage areas, adhering to all safety regulations and using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
