As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities within the warehouse (multi-site/two locations), ensuring the safe and efficient storage, handling, and distribution of components, raw materials and finished goods. This role involves managing a team of warehouse associates, maintaining inventory control, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and optimizing warehouse processes to support production goals.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management
- Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities including receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipping of raw materials and finished goods.
- Ensure warehouse operations (i.e. truck schedules, available freezer space) are aligned with production schedules, maintaining efficient workflow to support daily manufacturing requirements.
- Oversee the adherence to safety standards and operation for equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks), storage, and employee practices. Ensure safe & proper operation of powered industrial trucks (PITs) & other warehouse machinery.
- Oversee the proper labeling, rotation (FIFO), and storage of inventory to prevent product loss and spoilage.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in documenting shipping & receiving logs, inventory, and production records. Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse in compliance with sanitation and food safety standards (SQF, HACCP) – this includes maintaining cleanliness in docking bays, forklift areas, & storage zones.
Inventory Control & Management:
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to ensure timely supply and distribution.
- Oversee the receipt of goods and the creation of accurate bills of lading for shipments. Review, verify, and correct all data entered into the system, ensuring accurate documentation for inventory, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Conduct regular cycle counts for all materials and finished goods inventory to ensure accuracy in stock levels. Work closely with respective departments to reconcile discrepancies and ensure accuracy in inventory records.
- Use inventory management software to document and monitor stock levels, orders, and shipments.
- Monitor available freezer space, reporting on vacancies and creating plans to resolve overcrowding or space constraints. Report any adverse space conditions to appropriate teams for remediation.
Staff Supervision & Training:
- Lead, supervise, and motivate warehouse personnel across two locations, ensuring they are trained and adhere to safety, food safety, and operational procedures.
- Provide ongoing training in warehouse operations, equipment handling, safety protocols, and food safety standards. Maintain and monitor up-to-date certifications for those using powered industrial equipment a coordinate cross-training efforts to maximize workforce flexibility.
- Conduct performance reviews, manage employee schedules, and provide guidance to improve team performance.
- Manage employee issues or concerns by adapting leadership style to the situation at hand; provide employee feedback related to performance and disciplinary action following HR processes.
Shipping & Receiving:
- Create and maintain the receiving & shipping dock calendar ensuring all scheduling is up-to-date and efficient. Communicate regularly with customers and suppliers to provide accurate appointment scheduling, assist with appointment adjustments, and troubleshoot any issues with carrier appointments and dock procedures.
- Oversee the shipping & receiving for all goods, ensuring accurate shipments, proper documentation, and timely loading & unloading.
- Inspect inbound and outbound shipments and trucks, ensuring compliance with SQF standards, for quality and accuracy, reporting any discrepancies or damages. Document inspections for reporting and compliance purposes and coordinate with procurement & quality teams on returns.
- Provide support when required for various day-to-day warehouse operations, including general cleaning, line supply management, organization of materials, and maintaining safe forklift operations. Facilitate shift transitions & coordinate breaks for all team members.
- Escalate issues/disruptions to the supply chain processes – work to resolve with all stakeholders to minimize disruptions.
- Perform other duties assigned by your supervisor.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry, production, and technical documents in English.
- Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English.
- Ability to apply basic and intermediate mathematical concepts, including algebra, for inventory management, cycle counting and logistical planning.
- Ability to work OT, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Prior proficiency in equipment uses and operation for powered industrial trucks & related warehouse & dock equipment.
- Experience with appointment scheduling using the Calendly web portal preferred.
- Ability to perform daily, weekly, monthly supply chain requirements in an inventory management system – experience in SAGE preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably a food environment.
- Prior leadership experience preferred.
- Prior experience with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools and methodology is a plus.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- 80/20 floor to office ratio.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled equipment, ERP systems and scanner technology is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability of adjusting or moving objects of varying weights up to 50 lbs. in all directions.
- Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
- Ability to withstand various climates through the facility i.e. freezer, dock, production (as low as -15 degrees up to 110 degrees) as well as normal warehouse/dock conditions.
- Ability to work in an environment with flashing lights, horns, and powered moving equipment operating in proximity.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Able to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away excellent hand/eye coordination.
- Adaptability to work in diverse environments and surfaces.
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Stand and move around the warehouse for a minimum of 8 hours.

Compensation Range: $65,000 - $75,000
